Now everything about the Women’s T20 Challenge: Today’s first match, Smriti Mandhana’s trailblazer and Harmanpreet Kaur’s Supernova clash
From today till May 28, the Women’s T20 Challenge will be in full swing. A total of four matches are in the schedule between three teams. There will be three league stage matches and one final.
BCCI has announced the teams. Along with this, the schedule has also been released. The first match will be between Trailblazer and Supernova from 7:30 pm today. The match will live telecast on Hotstar and Star Sports networks from 7:30 pm onwards.
Women’s T20 Challenge: Teams
Three teams will compete against each other in the Velocity, Trailblazer, and Supernova tournaments. Harmanpreet Kaur will lead Supernova, Smriti Mandhana will lead Trailblazer and Deepti Sharma will captain Velocity. This tournament started in 2018. This is its fourth season. Last time Smriti Mandhana’s team became the trailblazers champion.
Women’s T20 Challenge: Venue
The tournament will conduct at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium (MCA), Pune. The BCCI Women’s Selection Committee has selected three teams and each team consists of a total of 16 players.
12 foreign players will take part
Similarly, a total of 12 overseas players from South Africa, England, the West Indies, and Australia will take part in the Women’s T20 Challenge 2023.
India’s experienced women players Mithali Raj, Jhulan Goswami, and Shikha Pandey will not be a part of the Women’s T20 Challenge this season.

The event could not be held last year due to COVID-19
Last year this tournament did not take place due to COVID-19. IPL also completed in two phases. The first phase was in India and the second phase was in UAE. Due to this problem, BCCI could not organize the Women’s T20 Challenge. In view of the improvement in the situation in Corona this year, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has decided to return to the tournament.
