After 14 games, the excitement level is sky high and only increases with every match. The league has witnessed unbelievable knocks, remarkable comebacks, and many game-changing moments. Game 14 between Mumbai and Kolkata will be remembered for a long time for a whirlwind knock from KKR star player Patt Cummins. Patt Cummins played one of the memorable innings of the tournament in his first match of the season after missing the first few games due to the Pakistan series and mandatory quarantine. Cummins scored 50 of 14 balls, the fastest fifty in IPL, and joined KL Rahul in scoring a quick half-century.

Let's look at some of the fastest fifties in IPL history.

Patt Cummins, LSG

A bit expensive with the ball, Cummins balanced it with his quickfire knock while chasing in Game 15 of Ipl 2023. Mumbai scored a modest total on the board and succeeded in restricting the KKR batters till Andre Russell got out in the 14th over. Cummins came at number 7 when his team lost five wickets for 101. The game appeared in MI control, but Cummins turned the tables in just a few balls, and KKR registered a stunning victory with 24 balls remaining.

KL Rahul, PBKS

Indian stylish wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul scored the first fastest half-century in 2018 against DC. A quick 50 of just 14 balls guided Punjab to chase the target of 167 and won the match by six wickets. Rahul hit six boundaries and four sixes in this blistering knock.

Yusuf Pathan

Another KKR batsman Yousuf Pathan scored 50 in just 15 balls in 2014 against SRH. KKR was required to chase 161 in the 15th to reach the second spot, and Yusuf Pathan played a fiery inning.

Sunil Narayne

This was in 2017 when KKR was chasing 159 against RCB. It rained boundaries when Sunil Naraine and Chris Lynn destroyed RCB bowlers. Sunil scored fifty of just 15 balls and guided the team to a brilliant victory.

Suresh Raina

Suresh Raina slammed a blistering fifty in 16 balls when CSK had to chase a mammoth total of 227 in the qualifier match against Punjab Kings XI in 2014. This is regarded as one of the most destructive innings in a high-intensity game, given the situation they were in.

ishan kishan

Mumbai Indians Ishan Kishan scored his half-century in 16 balls in IPL 2023 in Abu Dhabi against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Apart from the above players, nine batters scored half-centuries in 17 balls. The list includes Chris Gayle, Hardik Pandya, Ishan Kishan, Adam Gilchrist, Nicholas Pooran, Kieron Pollard, Chris Morris, and Sunil Naraine.
