There will be a display of elite guards in Dallas when Stephen Curry and the Warriors take on Luka Doncic and the Mavericks.
Curry, who is averaging 27.2 points per game this season, is looking to bounce back after scoring just nine points in the Warriors’ win over the Heat on Monday. It was an unusually poor shooting performance for the two-time MVP, as he shot 3 of -7 (17.6 percent) from the field and 1 of 10 (10.0 percent) from 3-point range.

The only time Curry was limited to just one 3-pointer this season (Nov. 21), he rallied to score six 3-pointers in his next outing. If history repeats itself, the Mavs could have a long night.
Wednesday also marks Doncic’s third game back in action after missing the previous 10 games due to injury and being placed in the league’s COVID health and safety protocols. In his last outing, Doncic led the Mavericks to a 14-point victory over the Nuggets with 21 points, 15 assists and eight rebounds.

Winners of three straight games, the Mavs look to continue to gain momentum after many ups and downs to start the season. Should there be a need for additional motivation, the greatest Maverick of all time will be in attendance as Dirk Nowitzki will see his No. 41 elevated to the rafters of the American Airlines Center in a postgame ceremony.
