Spaniard Maverick Vinales earned his first MotoGP victory by winning the 2019 MotoGP British Grand Prix. The 21-year-old Vinale, the 2013 Moto3 world champion, became the first Suzuki rider to do so since 2007. Carl Crutchlow finished second, while Valentino Rossi finished third. Márquez tried hard but couldn’t finish on the podium.
The race was stopped at 19 laps after a brutal collision on the first lap between French driver Loris Baz and Spaniard Pol Espargaró. But the second race started, Viñales took the lead from Márquez with Crutchlow in third place and Rossi fourth.
