Eight-time All-Star forward Anthony Davis is close to making his long-awaited return to the struggling Lakers.
Davis, who last played on Dec. 17, has seen his team go 7-10 in the 17 games since then, falling below .500 with a loss to the Heat on Sunday, Jan. 23.

While sitting in Miami, Davis was initially listed as questionable before being written off, a sign that his return to action will come sooner rather than later, but how soon?

Is Anthony Davis playing tonight?
After Davis suffered a right knee injury on Friday, Dec. 17, an MRI revealed a sprained ACL in his right knee. Initial reports indicated that his knee would be re-evaluated within four weeks.
on January 1 9, Davis was seen doing pregame work with a bulky brace on his left knee.. On January 23, it was listed as questionable before being scrapped just hours before notice. According to head coach Frank Vogel, Davis remains on track and hasn’t faced any setbacks.
More Vogel on AD, and his out-to-questionable update in the game notes: “We knew it was getting close… we knew (tonight) it was probably unlikely. No hiccups or anything like that. (But) it’s getting closer.”

Los Angeles’ visit to Miami was the second game of a six-game road trip that continues with trips to take on the Nets, 76ers, Hornets and Hawks.
