Gujarat Titans Name Meaning: One of the 2 new IPL teams that were introduced ahead of IPL 2023 named their franchise name as Gujarat Titans. Earlier in December 2023, BCCI hosts an auction for the rights of owing 2 teams in the upcoming IPL 2023 season.
Sanjiv Goenka and CVC Capital have won the bidding war among nearly 10 competitors which was hosted by BCCI in Dubai on October 25, 2023. The BCCI gets a whooping 12,690cr (1.7 Billion dollars) from the sale of 2 New IPL Teams.
CVC Capital(Irelia Company Pte Ltd) will own the Gujarat Titans while PR Sanjiv Goenka Group will own the Lucknow Super Giants IPL team in the IPL 2023 tournament.
Gujarat Titans will be having a purse of 52 crore in IPL 2023 Mega Auction after spending INR 38 crore (USD 5.1 million approx) on Pandya (INR 15 crore/USD 2.02 million approx), Rashid (INR 15 crore) and Gill (INR 8 crore/USD 1.07 million approx).

Gujarat Titans Name Meaning
Right after the team name announcement fans starts to dig up for the reason for the Gujarat-based IPL team’s name selection. Understanding the fans need the franchise came forward and explain the reason why they choose the name “Gujarat Titans”.

Siddharth Patel’s View
Siddharth Patel, a partner at CVC, said in a release that “We want this group to achieve great things for Gujarat and its many passionate fans, which is why we have chosen the name, Titans”.
“As we approach the league’s mega auction, we are confident that we will be able to put together the right combination of players going into the new season. We want individuals that are not only highly skilled but who are inspired to be Titans of the game.
“We look forward to starting on our journey with the passion and support of the people of Gujarat, and hope to inspire and win over new fans from all over India and the world.”
Titans’ home stadium will be the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the world’s largest cricket stadium.
Gujarat Titans Drafted Players
As per the BCCI’s rules for IPL 2023 Auction, Gujarat Titans can pick a maximum of 3 players from the IPL 2023 Auction pool players before the auction date.
It will be only the second IPL team for all three players, with Rashid coming over from Sunrisers Hyderabad, Gill from Kolkata Knight Riders, and Pandya from Mumbai Indians. This will also be the first time Pandya leads an IPL franchise.
