Interview: Manish Pandey speaks about keeping his place in the Indian squad

Manish Pandey has been a household name in the ODI fraternity for a long time and rightly so. He’s kept his place for the England series for ODIs but he’s been picked up for T20Is, for the first time since the tour to Zimbabwe in  June.  Here he is, in a telephonic interview with Sportswallah, speaking about the same.

  • Sportswallah: Manish, Congratulations for getting selected in both, the ODI as well as T20Is. How do you feel after getting selected in the team?

Manish Pandey:  Its a great feeling to a part of the squad, great chance to grab and make the most of the opportunity. I will be looking forward to do well.

Sportswallah: How different will this team be without Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s leadership?

Manish Pandey: MSD is a great captain, he has done a great job for India, time and again.  His leadership has been an inspiration to most of us. I will surely miss that but Virat as the new captain is something I have been a part of earlier. He has proved that in the Test format, it will be different and good to see him lead in the shorter formats too.
