Last week was a big one for exemptions, at least at this point in the season. I hope you took advantage because the Top Week 14 Fantasy Waiver Transfer Pickups & Free Agent Additions it leaves much to be desired. In fact, several of the best guys left over from last week, like Titans RBs. Dontrell Hilliard and D’Onta Foreman. Of course, as we’ve seen in recent weeks, more viable trucks will emerge in the coming days. As we look at the scenery on Sunday night, they are mostly bench WRs (read: free agents), like Amon-Ra St. Brown, KJ Osborn, Russell gage, and DeVante Parker.
Our full list of free agents has more potential pickups, like RBs wives of Philadelphia (Jordan howard, Boston Scott, Kenneth gainwell), Tevin coleman, and Taysom hill, but it’s mostly packed with potential Week 14 streamers on QB, WR, TE, and D / ST. At this point in the season, you need to plan ahead for all possible lineup situations, including last-minute pivots and handcuffs in both RB and WR. You can find our streamer suggestions at end of this list.
PLUS WEEK 14: Complete list of exemptions
Normally we would say that this is not the type of week you want to use a high exemption claim, but if it is time to win or go home for you, do what you have to do. The RB Titans might be the best, but let’s face it: if they’re still available in your league, you probably won’t need to use a higher exemption claim to get them. The same goes for Coleman or any other RB.
There are enough decent WRs that even if you need one, you don’t necessarily need to use an exemption claim to get a good one, but if there’s a guy you really want, go get it. The same is true if you really want or need Hill or another quarterback.
Best Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Cuts for Week 14
Unless otherwise noted, only players owned less than 50 percent of the Yahoo leagues considered.
Dontrell Hilliard and D’Onta Foreman, RBs, Titans. Do you remember them? Both rushed for more than 100 yards against the Patriots in Week 12 before being free in Week 13. Both are still available in about 60 percent of Yahoo’s leagues, and with favorable matchups against Jacksonville and Pittsburgh looming. , both must be owners.
Amon-Ra St. Brown, WR, Lions. St. Brown operated as Jared Goff’s man of reference in Week 13, catching 10 of 12 goals for 86 yards and a TD against the Vikings. We know St. Brown won’t perform like this every week, but an increase at the end of the season wouldn’t be surprising. Detroit has favorable matchups against Denver in Week 14, Atlanta in Week 16 and Seattle in Week 17, so take it now as a fantasy playoff bench.
PLUS WEEK 14: Complete list of exemptions
KJ Osborn, WR, Vikings. Osborn made some waves earlier in the season, but it took an ankle injury from Adam Thielen early in Week 13 to get him back on track. Osborn took over from Thielen, catching four passes (seven goals) for 47 yards and a score against the Lions. With Thielen likely out for Thursday night’s Week 14 game against Pittsburgh, Osborn has some WR3 / flex potential. He has an even better outlook for Week 15 against Chicago, so if you think you’ll need a catcher then look for Osborn now.
Russell Gage, WR, Falcons. Gage has continued to improve in the absence of Calvin Ridley (staff), and delivered his best game to date in Week 13, catching 11 of 12 goals for 130 yards. Gage should continue to operate as Atlanta’s best option, and while he has a tough matchup against Carolina next week, he has a lot of value in the playoffs with matchups against San Francisco and Detroit in weeks 15 and 16.
Taysom Hill, QB, Santos. If you actually watched Thursday night’s New Orleans vs. Dallas game, you’re probably scoffing at this suggestion. However, if you were just looking at the fancy numbers, you’d be excited to pick a quarterback who finished with a total of 10 points. That’s exactly what Hill did when he started last year, so even with his finger injury, it’s worth adding to his fantasy list, especially with games against the Jets, Bucs and Falcons looming.
