In the Miami Heat’s win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday, December 6, star forward Jimmy Butler aggravated a tailbone injury that has been bothering him for the past week.
Butler is enjoying an All-Star season thus far, averaging 22.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 5.2 assists in 18 games. As a result, the Heat are standing at 14-11, good for fourth place in the Eastern Conference improvement.

What is Jimmy Butler’s injury?
Butler missed Miami’s previous four games with a tailbone injury before his return against the Grizzlies on Dec. 6. A quarter of his first game back, the 32-year-old forward led the line and landed hard on his back, exacerbating the same. injury that had kept him out of the lineup.
He remained in the game after the crash but in the third quarter, Butler went to the locker room and never returned, being ruled out by the team.
