TATA IPL 2023 Opening Ceremony: The 15th edition of the TATA Indian premier league (IPL) is starting from 26th March. And the matches will be played with 25% crowd capacity, because of covid-19 situations in India. Due to covid, the BCCI decides that all the matches of IPL 2023 in Maharastra. 55 matches will be played in 3 stadiums (Wankhede Stadium, DY Patil Stadium, Brabourne stadium) of Mumbai and 15 matches will be played in 1 stadium in Pune (MCA stadium).
Despite all these facts, In IPL 2023 BCCI organize an opening ceremony or not? An opening ceremony is an inaugural event of IPL. But, from the last 3 IPL seasons BCCI doesn't conduct the IPL opening ceremony. 2018 was the last year in which we saw the IPL opening ceremony. However, this is due to pandemic situations.
IPL 2023 Opening ceremony?
Since the TATA IPL 2023 is conducting in a challenging situation of Covid-19. There will be no opening ceremony is organized for IPL 2023. The IPL will start with the match between Chennai super king and Kolkata Knight Riders at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
ITATA IPL 2023 Opening Ceremony will not conduct now?
BCCI is not conducting the Opening ceremony of IPL due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The threat of coronavirus already opposed BCCI to put things forward.
In 2020, BCCI officials told to media that, the grand opening ceremony of IPL is a waste of money. and it will not take place from next season because it is too expensive. By not conducting an IPL ceremony BCCI saves around 30 crores this money can apply to other operations which can be profitable for IPL.
What happens in the Opening ceremony of IPL
IPL opening ceremony is a grand event organized by BCCI to inaugurate the Indian Premier League. The IPL ceremony takes place on the open ground, not in a hall.
A host hosts the whole event. Bollywood celebrities perform in the event, big fireworks are also seen in the sky and BCCI invites many VIPs and VVIPs to attend the event.
BCCI secretary, BCCI President, and all BCCI officials come to attend the event. In short, it is a grand program to inaugurate the Indian premier league.
