BCCI officers give this offer to Virat Kohli and he refuses to play a farewell match

The India team loses their test series against SA and after playing the last match, Virat Kohli submits his letter of resignation to the BCCI officials.

There are now reports that the BCCI offered him a farewell party with a ceremony in Bangalore. But Kohli rejected this offer from the board.

Actually, India is due to play the first match of the 2-Test series in Bengaluru against Sri Lanka on February 25 and this will be Kohli's 100th Test.

BCCI officials give Virat Kohli an offer which he turns down

According to the Hindustan Times, an English newspaper

“When Virat Kohli informed the BCCI of the decision to step down from the Test captaincy by phone. He then receives an offer on a farewell match with a ceremony in Bangalore from a senior BCCI official.

In response, Kohli said: “One match doesn't matter. I'm not like that."

BCCI wants Virat Kohli to test a match against Sri Lanka, but Kohli refuses this offer and on social media tells his fans that he is not leading the team in any format of cricket now.

Virat Kohli first gives this information to team players before BCCI officials

In Kohli's captaincy, the Indian team won the maximum of 40 tests.

Kohli was elected team captain after Mahendra Singh Dhoni withdrew from Test Cricket.

He raised the team from the seventh position to number 1 in Tests.

Virat Kohli had made the decision to step down from the Test cricket captaincy even before the South Africa series.

In the team locker room he reported to coach Rahul Dravid and fellow players immediately after the loss in the Cape Town Test.

Following this, he told BCCI officials such as Chairman Sourav Ganguly and Secretary Jay Shah that he is stepping down as probationary captaincy.
